Illustration

I create illustrations for brands, digital content and editorial projects, alongside character-driven artwork and environments for comics and graphic novels. My professional illustration experience includes work for NatWest, T&P Group and Jane Plan, creating engaging visuals that communicate ideas clearly while bringing personality to a brand.

Alongside commercial work, I create my own comics and graphic novels, developing characters, environments and stories from concept through to finished artwork. My independent comic work has reached 185,000+ views and 1,200+ followers, giving
me experience creating visual stories that connect with an audience.

T&P Group Internal Newsletter

Designed an internal newsletter for T&P Group to celebrate company culture, showcase employee stories, and communicate business and industry updates. I led the creative direction from concept through to final production, developing the visual identity, editorial layouts, and bespoke illustrations. The publication was widely praised across the business and evolved into an ongoing internal communication piece.

Mending Time — Short Graphic Novel

Mending Time is a four-page original graphic novel created for the Faber Graphic Short Story Prize. The story follows a young woman who invents a time machine, but instead of travelling back to change the course of history, she uses it to uncover why her last relationship came to an end.

From concept to completion, I created every aspect of the project, including the story, character and environment design, illustration, page layouts, typography and colour palette. Working within a four-page format challenged me to communicate emotion, pacing and narrative through clear visual storytelling and thoughtful editorial design.

NatWest — Custom Branded Illustration

During my time at T&P Group, I worked predominantly on the NatWest client account, creating 100+ custom branded illustrations for use across print, web and app, social media, paid social, display advertising, TV and other digital platforms.

Working within NatWest's distinctive illustration guidelines, I developed concepts from initial sketches through to polished artwork, carefully considering the brand's visual language, colour palette and style to ensure each illustration felt recognisably NatWest.

I presented multiple concepts to the client for review, refined selected directions based on feedback, and prepared final artwork for use across the wider design and animation team. I also created animated versions of selected illustrations in After Effects, turning static artwork into GIFs and motion assets for digital applications.

Girl Problems - A slice of life short comic series

In 2017, I started creating Girl Problems, a slice-of-life comic series under the creator name Sarah Loweez. The series follows Sarah, an exaggerated version of myself, as she navigates everyday problems, awkward situations and mistakes, finding humour in the things that don't always go to plan.

I’ve developed the series on and off over the years as both a creative outlet and a way to keep developing my illustration skills. Creating regular comic strips challenges me to work across character design, environments, composition, sequential storytelling and digital illustration, while also experimenting with different visual ideas and keeping up with digital content trends.

Over the years, Girl Problems has attracted 185,000+ views and almost 1,300 followers, with the comics published across platforms including Webtoon, Tapas and social media. Building the series from the ground up has given me experience not only in creating the artwork, but also in developing a recognisable visual style, creating content for different platforms and building an audience around my work.

Below, I have added a recent comic strip I created named 'Blue Hair, Overshare' to give you an idea of the type of comics I create. This one did really well on social media.
